1. Acceptance
By downloading or using CartWall (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use CartWall. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16, please do not use the App.
3. What CartWall Does
CartWall is a personal digital-wellbeing tool. It uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) API to help you add friction before impulse purchases by temporarily blocking shopping apps on your own device. CartWall is designed for self-management only — it is not designed to monitor, track, or control another person’s device without their knowledge and consent.
4. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- The apps you choose to block
- The schedules and rules you configure
- Any decisions you make about purchases, spending, or app usage
CartWall helps you add a pause before impulse purchases. Final decisions are always yours.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use CartWall only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the App to monitor or restrict another person’s device without their explicit consent
- Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the App or its blocking features
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
6. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Billing
CartWall may offer a free trial period, after which continued access to premium features requires an active subscription. All subscription billing, pricing, and payment processing are managed by Apple through the App Store and your Apple ID account settings. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, in accordance with Apple’s App Store terms.
To cancel your subscription or request a refund, please visit your Apple ID subscription settings or contact Apple Support directly. We are unable to process refunds on Apple’s behalf.
7. Restore Purchases
If you previously purchased a CartWall subscription and need to restore access on a new device or after reinstalling, use the “Restore Purchases” option within the App.
8. Screen Time and Apple Family Controls
CartWall uses Apple’s Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks. By using these features, you grant CartWall permission to apply app restrictions on your device. This permission can be revoked at any time through your device’s Screen Time settings.
All Screen Time data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to CartWall’s servers.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen within the App. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed from our active servers and your device. Blocking rules and app restrictions are also cleared. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.
10. Third-Party Services
CartWall uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — user data storage and anonymous authentication
- Superwall — subscription and paywall management
- Mixpanel — pseudonymous usage analytics
Your use of CartWall is also subject to Apple’s App Store Terms of Service.
11. Provided As-Is
CartWall is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific outcomes related to your spending habits or shopping behavior.
12. Not Medical or Financial Advice
CartWall is a digital-wellbeing tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, or financial advice and is not a substitute for professional care.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CartWall and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any purchasing decisions you make.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless CartWall and its developer from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
15. Changes to the Service
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of CartWall at any time without notice.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
